Running easy

Do you love running but often suffer from injuries?

You want to run, but feel you have an awkward running style?

Are you an athlete looking for that extra edge to perfect your performance?

Does your running group want to improve?

We were born to run. We yearn to run when we are children and often discover on our own the joy with which we can move at greater speed. Running is one of the simplest yet most complex movements a human being can make.

This program is designed to make running easier and more efficient.

You will learn how to:

  • avoid injury
  • recognise your habits
  • move with more efficiency
  • improve movement patterns
  • discover new ways of running
  • improve your running posture
  • pay attention to your experiences

What are the benefits?

You will

  • learn how to improve ease and comfort
  • learn how to eliminate pain and reduce injury
  • strengthen your musculo-skeletal system
  • develop increased self-awareness about HOW you run
  • improve your speed with greater coordination
  • improve your endurance with better bio-mechanical efficiency

The program is designed to be interactive, making running even more fun.

How does it work?

We will go through a series of gentle and dynamic movement classes where you will learn strategies that affect changes in breathing, posture, flexibility, range of motion, coordination, shifts in self-image, reduce pain, and increase vitality.

You can use them for warm-up/downs, while running, and as an action learning reminder at any time to maintain lasting change.

This program is based on the Feldenkrais Method® of Awareness Through Movement. Moshe Feldenkrais realised that grace and ability, comfort and coordination come from not only from natural ability and physical condition, but also through awareness and learning.

Who is teaching?

Margaret Kaye is a certified Feldenkrais® movement teacher and assistant trainer. She has been teaching for nearly 20 years and has been running for some time.

During her school years Margaret tried to skip school sports as she felt so awkward. However, she took up running in her adult years using the principles of the Feldenkrais Method of Movement®. Margaret enjoys running at the beach.

Margaret teaches public classes and workshops, and teaches in professional training programs, as well as maintaining a private clinic, where she helps athletes and others achieve better performance.

Here is some feedback from participants...

“Thank you for the classes - I found them really valuable - through the lessons I became much more aware of my physical movements when running and was able to incorporate changes in the way I run so that my movements feel smoother, easier and more efficient.   In fact running became much more pleasant!”

“The stretching exercises were great - they were gentle but incredibly effective - accordingly I felt no strains or pains while doing the exercises nor afterwards.  I also found your exercises much more effective then the more traditional stretching that I had been doing.”
